US Customs Form - 178 - US Customs Small Aircraft Report of Arrival
This is the form to fill out
for an arrival into the US. You go online and fill in the information
then print it out and have ready to fill in your arrival dates, times,
and places.

US Customs Form - 339a - Application for US Customs sticker.
This is where you apply for the sticker that goes on
your aircraft. It costs $25.00 and is good from January 1 until Dec 31
of the year in which you apply. Use your CC and apply on Line or pay at
most AOE Customs offices upon arrival.

US Customs Form - 442 & 442a - Procedures and Information for Requesting Overflight Exemptions and Landing Requirements

Attached are the forms and information about using
Carlsbad as a Port of Entry. There is a $50.00 charge by Carlsbad
Airport that can be paid at Western Flight FBO. I checked with AOPA and
this charge is legitimate. It is an Airport charge and not a charge by
Western Flight. Carlsbad would seem to be an alternative to Calexico and
Brown Field when weather is IFR at Calexico or turbulence is present.
Carlsbad can be busy so leaving can involve a wait.

FCC Radio license is
required for International use.
“On October 26,
1996, the FCC released a Report
and Order in WT Docket No. 96-82, FCC 96-421
(text,
WordPerfect), eliminating the individual licensing
requirement for all aircraft operating domestically. This means that
you do not need a license to operate a two-way VHF radio, radar, or
ELT aboard aircraft operating domestically. All other aircraft radio
stations must be licensed by the FCC either individually or by
fleet.”
The FCC has a web
site and you will be renewing for a 10 year period. The web site
